Bark Avenue Pet Supply, Veterinarian and Pet Resort
The One Stop
Spot for Healthy Pets
By Lynette Carrington
At Bark Avenue, every pet gets the love,
attention and exceptional food products that come from a focused
staff of pet owners and breeders who only want the best for their
pets. The store, veterinarian’s office and pet resort continuously
attract customers and pets from all over the valley due to their
outstanding reputation.
Pet foods at Bark Avenue Pet Supply focus on raw,
holistic and natural foods high in protein, akin to what an animal’s
natural
diet would be. Foods carried are made without sweeteners,
meat or poultry by-products, artificial colors, flavors or
preservatives, soy, wheat or corn. Bark Avenue uses manufacturers
they can trust to offer the highest quality products.
“We
really set the bar pretty high for the food we’ve selected,” stated
Manager Elizabeth Pfeiffer. The staff at Bark Avenue takes the time
to share their extensive knowledge of pets, diet and even health
issues. The overall philosophy is for total pet wellness at every
stage of life. “It’s a plan for optimal health,” Pfeiffer explained.
Other fine pet products carried at Bark Avenue
include fish oils and vitamin and nutritional supplements including
those for digestion, joint, immune and oral hygiene support as well
as homeopathic remedies and skin and coat enhancers. Learn more at

Dr. Kathy Orr heads up Bark Avenue Animal
Hospital. Dr. Orr graduated from the University of California Davis
School of Veterinary Medicine. She started off at the Arizona Humane
Society and then moved on to become the primary vet at the Phoenix
Zoo for twenty years. She also founded Liberty Wildlife
Rehabilitation Foundation and still volunteers there.
Dr. Orr is “the rare breed” of vet who can treat
a large variety of friends, including cats, dogs, birds, pocket pets
(guinea pigs, gerbils, etc.), small goats and most reptiles
(livestock is not treated). An animal champion and owner, pets seen
by Dr. Orr at Bark Avenue Animal Hospital are treated with the
utmost of care and concern. (Ask the doctor about her llamas.) Visit
www.BarkAveVet.com or call (480) 807-5524.
Rounding out the full pet service is Bark Avenue
Pet Resort. “Pets are cared for in a state-of-the-art climate
controlled facility,” stated Pfeiffer. Pet perks include beds, TVs,
three acres of grass and lots of one-on-one attention and
interactive play time with staff. Family dogs can stay together.
Staff will feed, walk and play ball, Frisbee and other games with
the dogs to keep them active, engaged and happy. Some staff live on
site, providing stability and continuity to the ongoing operations.
Animals can drop by for the day (a great idea if
your home is under construction or remodeling) or stay for a pet
vacation while owners are away. Top professional groomers are also
available at the pet resort which offers top-notch, all-inclusive
services any dog would love. Stop by between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for
a complete tour of the beautiful facility. Bark Avenue Pet Supply,
Vet Hospital and Pet Resort are located at 3109 E. McKellips Road
between Val Vista and Lindsay. Call (480) 832-3631 for resort
